| Pricing for Information (PFI) | EINS offers its users a unique pricing structure (PFI) where the databases have a minimal connect time charge (6 AU/h) and where the user pays for the retrieved information |
| New Users | There are no start-up costs |
| Databases using the EINS search language | All databases resident on EINS computers and many resident on other hosts are searchable with the EINS direct command language |
| Connect time charges | The use of any online service resident on EINS carries a flat charge of AU 5 per hour for housekeeping purposes and selected telecommunications |
| Database access / Session charge | Amount payable when selecting certain databases for the purpose of searching. Once paid, the user has the right to remain in a selected database or group of databases (Questcluster) for an indefinite period of time |
| Scan & Browse | Special short formats to enable the user to inspect the search results in order to decide on relevance.Formats S and B are free of charge except for the databases offered by FIZ-Karlsruhe |
| Reference, Full formats | Refers to longer formats containing ALL the source data. Payable for each item inspected (to be used with the commands Type or Print) |
| Download | Refers to the download command - irrespective of the format selected - meant for keeping records in magnetic form and reused for user sole use |
| SDI per update / each profile | Cost for offline execution at each update of pre-stored search strategies. Update freQuencies are database dependent |
| SDI per update / each item | Cost of individual items printed out as a result of an SDI search. Amount payable for each item retrieved |
| Complementary Services | Services available through
the EINS-GEM system; each of them refers to a specific pricelist (see
the EINS-GEM web site). For the prices of the new service I2plus see below. |
