SUPER BUILDING - 118 |
SUBJECT COVERAGE
SUPER BUILDING is a cluster of five databases:DATABASE DESCRIPTION
The International CONstruction Database - ICONDA, the database of the International Council for Building Research, Studies and Documentation (CIB), covers the international literature on all fields of building construction, civil and construction engineering, and architecture and town planning. The Information Centre for Regional Planning and Building Construction (IRB) of the Fraunhofer Society (Germany) acts as ICONDA-Agency and co-ordinates the international co-operation of several organisations, which are the information providers for ICONDA.
ITRD, formerly IRRD, the International Transport Research Documentation database, is one of the major activities of the OECD Road Transport and Intermodal Linkages Research (RTR) Programme. The database gathers all literature and information about ongoing research, on all aspects of road research, transport and traffic planning. It is a trilingual (English-French-German) database, although most references are in English.
PASCAL is a multidisciplinary and multilingual database covering the worldwide literature on science, technology and medicine. Each reference includes the article’s original, a translated English title, a French title and an abstract, mostly in English or French. Index terms are in English, French and in some cases Spanish and German. The database’s breakdown by language is approximately: English 76%, French 10%, Russian 6%, German 5% and other languages 1%.
RSWB (Raumordnung, Staedtebau, Wohnungswesen, Bauwesen) covers all fields of regional planning, town planning, housing, building construction and civil engineering. Documents published mainly in German speaking countries, but also in other European countries, the United States and Canada, are cited. Special emphasis is given to non-conventional literature and descriptions of research projects. References are in German. If a title is in a language other than German, both the original and the German title are available.
The ULIDAT (Umweltliteraturdatenbank) database covers the environmental problems of German-speaking countries. The database covers water, air, waste management, noise, and soil environmental research. The database language is German, however, some titles are also in English or other languages. An excerpt of the online database is available on CD-ROM via the Bundesdruckerei.
